In Spring 2021, Erie Niagara AHEC partnered with the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions on the Public Health Pathways Academy. This program took place over the course of six weeks, and introduced students from the 14206, 14211, and 14215 zip codes to various aspects of public health and healthcare career pathways. The purpose of this program is to encourage diversity and interest in the public health field.

This program provided the opportunity for teens to gain exposure to the field of public health and the impact that it has on their communities. These teens are equipped to address public health concerns in their respective communities, as well as educate their neighbors, families, and friends on these topics. Erie Niagara AHEC looks forward to a continued partnership with the UB School of Public Health to continue providing important services to youth in our community.
