PATCH and YLT End Another Amazing Year

Erie Niagara AHEC’s year-round high school programs have successfully come to a close! 20 incredible students participated in the Providers and Teens Communicating for Health (PATCH) and Youth Leadership Team (YLT) Programs throughout the 2022-2023 school year, attending biweekly enrichment meetings, delivering trainings, and providing essential feedback to local community organizations regarding teen healthcare improvement.

Most excitingly, our PATCH Teen Educators held workshops for 220 of their peers and over 440 healthcare providers throughout the school year, whilst our YLT members determined the recipients of $7,000 in grants for local teen-focused programs. Thanks to the support of our partners at HOPE Buffalo, these programs have educated and empowered countless youth and young adults in our community.

We are so proud of our participants and all of the hard work, dedication, and energy they have put into bettering their community. Although it is bittersweet to see our graduating senior students move on, we are excited to see how they will continue to be changemakers, especially since many are pursuing health careers.
