Erie Niagara AHEC is currently recruiting teens for our summer and 2022-23 academic year programs! Participating teens will explore various health careers, learn leadership and college-readiness skills, give back to their community, and most importantly, have fun! Health Career Summer Camp
Join us for two weeks of interactive activities exploring health careers, community health issues, and increasing college-readiness skills! You will learn all about healthcare, public health, and what you can do to prepare yourself for these pathways. Open to students entering 10th and 11th grade in September 2022. This program is generously funded by our partner HOPE Buffalo, the community-wide movement for optimal teen health and wellbeing. Learn more at hopebuffalo.org

Youth Leadership Team (YLT)
On the YLT, members learn, engage, advocate, and lead by bettering themselves and the circumstances for teens in their communities. YLT members provide crucial feedback to local organizations and healthcare providers about how to best reach teens, while also educating their peers through health-related projects of their own design. If you want to lead change while enhancing your college and career readiness skills, consider joining the YLT! We meet twice per month from September-May.
Application Due: July 1
Interviews: July 11-15
Mandatory Orientation: August 22-24, 1-5 pm
Monthly Meetings: $15/hour

PATCH (Providers and Teens Communicating for Health) Program
PATCH is a year-long program in which members are trained to deliver workshops about important teen health information to providers and peers. You will learn about your healthcare rights, how to speak up for yourself and others, and become a resource for good health information to your friends and family. PATCH Teen Educators must attend orientation August 22-26. After orientation, we meet twice per month to learn about health topics, and workshops are first come first serve signups.

Monthly Meetings & Workshops: $15/hour
