During this series, we will cover the continuum of care needed to prevent and address injuries that occur during birth. Our first session will cover trauma-informed care before, during, and after birth. Attendees will learn about: I. Prevalence of psychological trauma among women of childbearing age II. Introduction to Adverse Childhood Events (ACE) Study III. Impact of ACEs on the perinatal period IV. Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) V. Impact of the work: the need for self-care for the doula VI. Strategies for engaging TIC in doula work
