Burnout Prevention: Birth Workers

Birth work is deeply rewarding, but systemic healthcare barriers, unpredictable hours, and emotional labor can lead to burnout. This session explores burnout as a systems-driven condition, not a personal failure.

Using Maslach’s six mismatches framework, birth workers will identify the organizational, environmental, and systemic factors that contribute to burnout in perinatal and clinical settings, while learning strategies to move from chronic depletion to sustainable care.
