Erie Niagara AHEC encourages local youth and adults to explore careers in health care. With AHECs located in both urban and rural communities throughout New York, there are many educational and career opportunities available. Whether you’re a student, guidance counselor or current health care worker we encourage you to visit the New York Health Careers Website. The website serves as a guide for anyone interested in a career in health care. The website has detailed information on nearly 60 health professions and occupations, including:

  • Settings where the professions are practiced
  • Earnings and income estimates
  • Applicable New York licensure requirements
  • Educational requirements
  • Education programs in New York to train for specific professions (with corresponding Web links)

The New York Health Careers Web site was developed and is maintained by the New York Center for Health Workforce Studies, with support from their sponsors. The Center is located at the School of Public Health, University at Albany, State University of New York. The Center is a not-for-profit research organization with a mission to provide timely, accurate data and to conduct policy-relevant research about the health workforce.
