Danise Wilson Named Buffalo Business First 40 Under 40 Honoree

Danise Wilson, MPH, Executive Director of Erie Niagara AHEC was honored on December 1, 2017 as one of Buffalo Business First’s 2017 40 Under 40 Honorees.

“Buffalo Business First’s 40 Under 40 honors Western New York men and women who excel in their professions and community involvement. A panel of 40 Under 40 alum selected this year’s class out of over 160 nominations.”

Educating tomorrow’s health care workforce

“The School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP), along with the Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center (ENAHEC), recently hosted a free summer camp for local high school students to learn more about public health and to explore both college and career choices in public health and health professions.”

“Trocaire College has been awarded the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant. The grant will fund an estimated $1.8 million over four years for the college and its community partners to recruit, support, retain and graduate diverse nursing professionals to power the local healthcare workforce.

Participating nursing students will be buoyed by financial, academic and social support, and respected grant partners Community Health Centers of Buffalo and Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center (ENAHEC) will each assist in providing mentoring and vocational training for students. Trocaire is the recipient of one of only 29 awards given nationwide, and the only recipient in New York State.”

Millennium Training Collaboration Delivering a ‘Mission Critical’ Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Knowledge and Skills
